Identification Required
When using mobile notary services, proper identification is required for any notarization that involves verifying a signer’s identity. Florida law mandates that all signers present current, valid, government‑issued identification that includes a clear photographic image of the signer’s face. This helps ensure the integrity of the notarization process and protects all parties involved.
To complete your notarization smoothly, please have one of the following acceptable forms of ID ready at your appointment:
State issued Identification Card
State, County and local government ID cards
Veteran’s health identification card
Inmate identification card (if in custody)
Alien registration card (green card)
Your identification must be unexpired, issued by a federal or state government agency, and must clearly match the name on the documents being notarized. If your ID is expired or unavailable, alternative options—such as credible witnesses—may be allowed under Florida notary law, depending on the situation.
